Noida: A 39-year-old property dealer was allegedly shot dead by his girlfriend’s brother near a housing society’s market area in Sector 75 on Holi afternoon, after a confrontation over their extramarital relationship.The victim, Sahil Singhal, a resident of Ivy County, was shot multiple times during an argument around 4pm on Wednesday when residents were still celebrating Holi in the complex. Police have taken four people into custody, including Singhal’s girlfriend Priya Solanki (27), her brothers Nikhil Solanki and Lokesh Solanki, and an associate identified as Lucky.According to police, Singhal and Priya had been in a relationship for about four years. They met while Singhal was working at a project site in Greater Noida West.Investigators said Priya learned about three years ago that Singhal was married and had two children. After that, tensions grew between the two. Police said Priya allegedly demanded money and pressured Singhal to divorce his wife and marry her, something he was unwilling to do.On Wednesday afternoon, Priya and the three men arrived at Singhal’s residential complex, reportedly on the pretext of meeting him during Holi celebrations. Police said Singhal approved their entry through the society’s main gate using a mobile access app. Singhal then came down to meet them near the market area of the complex along with his wife and mother.According to investigators, an argument broke out between the two sides and quickly escalated. During the confrontation, Nikhil allegedly pulled out a firearm and opened fire.Police said three to four shots were fired. Singhal was hit multiple times in the abdomen and collapsed at the scene. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead during treatment.Following the incident, a forensic team examined the spot and collected evidence. The body was later sent for a post-mortem examination. A case was registered under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on a complaint filed by Singhal’s mother, Seema.Police said the four accused have been detained and were being questioned as part of the investigation. Officials also said the Solankis had filed a complaint in Ghaziabad about two months ago related to the dispute over the extramarital relationship.
