Jaipur: Deputy chief minister Diya Kumari Tuesday directed officials to prioritise training of Anganwadi workers, saying better-trained staff would ensure efficient management of centres and improved childcare services.At a review meeting, she emphasised strengthening Anganwadi infrastructure, enhancing service delivery and expanding support systems for women and children. She said improved training would also boost services for pregnant women, lactating mothers and adolescent girls visiting the centres.She asked officials to enhance coordination with the education dept to ensure pre-school activities are conducted effectively. She also directed relocation of Anganwadi centres operating from rented premises to govt school buildings.For centres that continue in rented spaces, she instructed officials to ensure improved facilities. She further ordered provision of basic amenities — electricity, drinking water and functional toilets — at all centres, asking departments to ensure timely implementation.The deputy CM also reviewed progress of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, conversion of centres into ‘Nandghars’, and other key schemes, directing officials to meet targets set for the current financial year on time.
