Bhubaneswar: A year after the state govt finalised the Odisha Adventure Tourism guidelines, the tourism department is set to launch the ‘Go Adventure’ online portal on Tuesday.The portal aims to provide a platform for adventure enthusiasts, tour operators and investors by showcasing certified adventure activities, destinations and safety standards.
Official sources said the initiative will streamline bookings, ensure adherence to safety norms and open up new avenues for private participation in the sector.Deputy chief minister and tourism minister Pravati Parida said the portal marks a major step in positioning Odisha as a preferred adventure tourism destination in eastern India. The portal will bring all stakeholders on one platform and help us tap the immense potential of our state, she said.Parida added that several MoUs will be signed with private operators and agencies during the launch event to promote trekking, paragliding, eco-trails and camping. “Through these partnerships, we aim to generate employment opportunities for local youth and encourage community participation in tourism-linked livelihoods,” she said.Official sources said the portal will also feature information on lesser-known destinations, safety protocols, trained guides and emergency response systems, ensuring a secure experience for tourists. The department expects the move to attract both domestic and international travellers seeking offbeat and adventure experiences.
