Patna: A police team was attacked by the villagers in Saharsa district on Sunday while trying to rescue two youths who were held captive. The incident occurred in Hindupur village under Simri Bakhtiyarpur police station area. An FIR was registered against five named and 10 unknown people. The main accused, an ex-ward member, was arrested and sent to jail in the incident. The police team met with resistance, with the crowd seen pushing and obstructing them in a viral video.Simri Bakhtiyarpur SHO, Amarnath Kumar, said, “The youths, Bhairav Kumar and Rahul Kumar, were allegedly held captive for taking photos in one of the villager’s homes without permission. Police rescued them and are now identifying other attackers based on video footage. We are conducting raids to arrest all involved.”
