Bhilwara: Bhadesra police in Chittorgarh district Monday seized 178 kg of illegal opium poppy husk from a car.Chittorgarh SP Manish Tripathi said the action was taken to prevent trafficking of illegal narcotics in the district. Under the supervision of Chittorgarh ASP Sarita Singh, a team led by Bhadesra station house officer Vinod Menaria, a team was formed to patroll the area.
Police said that during the patrol, they spotted a suspicious Creta car and chased it. The driver abandoned the vehicle at the spot and fled. The car was searched and police found illegal opium poppy husk in 13 plastic sacks and seized it.Police are searching for the car owner and registered a case under the NDPS Act.
