Kolkata: Baguiati cops busted a passport racket, arrested a key suspect and recovered 132 original passports from a rented house in East Burdwan.Khalid Ahmed, also known as Ahmed Khan (46), was arrested following investigations into a Zero FIR filed at Bhatpara PS on June 3. The case involves a fraudulent company, ‘Era Management Service’, operating from Prafulla Kanan, Kestopur, which allegedly duped job seekers by promising employment opportunities in European countries, like Turkey and Spain, and charging Rs 40,000-Rs 2 lakh from each victim.The accused, a resident of UP, was questioned, which led to a raid at his rented premises in Ullash Mini Township under Shaktigarh PS, where cops found the passports. “The passports belong to people from Bengal, UP, Jharkhand, and Odisha,” said an officer. tnn
