Araria: Heavy police deployment continues in and around the incident site at Forbesganj, while security has been tightened at the residences of the deceased—Ravi Chauhan and Nabi Hussain—to prevent any escalation. Four FIRs have been registered so far in connection with the case.Tension flared after an irate mob vandalised parts of Sadar Hospital, Forbesganj, when the bodies of the two victims were brought there for the postmortem on Thursday. The violence triggered panic among patients and hospital staff, including doctors. Several patients fled the premises before returning after police restored order and assured safety.Concerned citizens and civil society members have expressed anguish over what they termed a disturbing erosion of humane values. Eyewitnesses said several bystanders recorded videos while Nabi Hussain was being attacked instead of intervening. “Humanity stood ashamed,” said Vinay Kumar Thakur, senior advocate and former president of the Araria Bar Association.SDPO, Forbesganj, Mukesh Sah said four FIRs have been registered—two related to the murders, one for vandalism and obstruction of govt work, and another against those who prevented police from performing their duties.“Strict action will be taken against those found guilty. Police deployment will continue until normalcy is restored,” Sah said.Araria SP Jitendra Kumar said police remain on high alert with round-the-clock vigil in place.
