Jaisalmer: In a breakthrough in the Dhorimanna truck driver murder case, police in Balotra district arrested two accused within 24 hours of the incident, officials said Friday. The driver was allegedly killed after a minor road altercation escalated into a chase and attack on the highway.Investigators said the accused chased the truck and struck the driver in the chest with a stone, causing his death on the spot. The case was cracked using a digital trail. “We had only CCTV footage of two youths on a bike. Identification was difficult, but an online payment at a liquor shop helped us trace them,” police said.d. The accused were identified as Deepak Kumar (26) from Kotputli-Behrod and Vishnaram (23) from Sanchore. Both are delivery boys with an online courier company and were allegedly intoxicated at the time of the incident. According to the complaint filed by Isrol resident Pokraram Prajapat, his brother Vishnaram Prajapat (45) was driving a truck when the dispute began at Dhorimanna intersection after he honked at a bike blocking the road. Though bystanders initially intervened, the accused later followed the truck and attacked him on the Sanchore road. The incident had triggered protests, with villagers staging a dharna demanding arrests and compensation. Police said 10 teams were formed and technical inputs, along with CCTV analysis, were used to track the suspects. After the arrests and talks with the administration, the protest was called off. Police said further investigation is underway.
