Hisar: A team of Haryana’s anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested a patwari in Hansi after he was allegedly caught accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000. The action followed a complaint filed by a farmer from Bhatla village, who approached the patwari, Ajit, to get a map and deed prepared.According to the complainant, the patwari demanded Rs 9,500, of which Rs 4,500 was already paid. The ACB team conducted a raid as the remaining Rs 5,000 was being handed over. Sources said the patwari engaged a man named Govind to collect the bribe on his behalf.As part of the trap, the bribe money was given to Govind. Both Ajit and Govind were immediately taken into custody.Hansi SDM Rajesh Khoth served as the duty magistrate during the operation and remained present throughout the proceedings. The ACB team also collected forensic evidence from the spot.
