Prayagraj: The passport office received a bomb threat through an email on Wednesday. However, nothing suspicious was found during the search of the Prayagraj office premises.SHO (Civil Lines) Ramashraya Yadav told TOI that a mail was received in Lucknow on Tuesday threatening to blow up all the passport offices across the state. The Sangam city centre is located on the campus of the head post office.The senior police officials at the control room on Tuesday sent instructions to all the districts where passport office centres are located, including Prayagraj, for the checking drive.A police team led by SHO (Civil Lines) Ramashraya Yadav reached the premises with the bomb detection and disposal squad and a sniffer dog to conduct an anti-sabotage check of the passport office and adjoining areas.SHO said, “Nothing suspicious was found during the search operation. Even if the mails were the act of miscreants, police are taking no chances.
