Mangaluru: Parents of a 23-year-old girl from Kerala appealed to the Mangaluru City police to bring their daughter back. The parents told reporters at the Pathrika Bhavan here on Thursday, that their daughter was suspected to have gone to Wayanad in Kerala with a man from a different faith.They said a missing complaint was filed at Surathkal police station soon after they found her missing from the hostel. “We came to understand through social media that our daughter applied for a marriage registration with a man from another faith in Wayanad. When we reached Wayanad police station on Monday, the authorities allowed only 5 minutes to talk to our daughter. Our daughter told us that she will come back. However, police in Wayanad did not cooperate with us,” the girl’s mother alleged.
She added that her daughter was working in Bengaluru after the completion of her degree, and was missing from a paying guest accommodation in Surathkal. Her parents did not know that she had come from Bengaluru and was staying in the PG in Surathkal.Meanwhile, Hindu Jagaran Vedike leaders urged police to look into the issue seriously, and ensure justice for the family.
