Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao announced on Sunday that he will embark on a statewide padayatra in 2027 to address public issues, as part of efforts to reconnect with the populace and strengthen the party’s organisation.Speaking to the media at Kyathanpalli in Mancherial district, he declared that the party would contest the upcoming elections independently, without entering into alliances. “Alliances haven’t worked in our favour. We will fight alone and reclaim power,” he emphasised, firmly ruling out any collaboration with the BJP.Regarding delimitation, KTR stated that the proposed increase in assembly and parliamentary constituencies could open new political avenues. He expressed that if the current proportional representation is upheld, there would be no cause for concern. “If all states receive a uniform increase in seats without diminishing their existing share, there’s nothing to worry about,” he noted.Emphasising the electoral strategy, he highlighted that the party would prioritise winnability in the selection of candidates. “We will nominate candidates where they have the best chance of winning. There will be no hesitation in making these decisions,” he asserted.KTR also acknowledged some shortcomings during the BRS govt’s time in office, admitting that the party struggled to maintain effective coordination with grassroots leaders, including cadre, sarpanches, MPTCs and mandal-level representatives.
