Bengaluru: Three days after miscreants sent emails to over 40 schools in the city stating an explosive was set to go off on campus, a similar email surfaced Tuesday morning at a private school in Gunjur. The hoax mail was noticed by the administration department of Chrysalis High, Gunjur campus, and they immediately alerted the jurisdictional Kothanur police. Accompanied by an anti-sabotage team, cops rushed to the campus and carried out a search after evacuating the students. Parents were told to pick up their kids from school by 11.30am. However, by 1pm, police declared it a hoax threat. “It is similar to the mail from roadkill333@atomicmail.io, in which the miscreants wrote that they had skilfully hidden explosives (Trinitrotoluene) in classrooms,” an investigating officer said.Meanwhile, city police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh requested school authorities, parents, guardians, and others not to panic upon receiving such emails. “Last week, around 40 schools received threat mails. Today, one did. We are on the job and will soon bring the miscreants to book,” he said.
