H Krishna stressed that children in the district should receive quality, nutritious food and reminded officials that preventing malnutrition is their core responsibility. He noted that the govt is supplying rations under the Anna Bhagya scheme with the aim of eliminating malnutrition and emphasised the need to deliver govt programmes to the weaker sections. Nutritious food should be made available in student hostels, residential schools, and anganwadis, he said, adding that cleanliness and timely meals are essential. DC SJ Somashekar said clean drinking water must be provided in anganwadis, schools, hostels, and residential institutions.
