Bhubaneswar: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, started evaluation of Class XII board exam answer scripts from Thursday in two phases. It will continue till April 26.While the first-phase evaluation will continue till April 13, the second phase will be conducted between April 15 and 26. Answer papers of about 3.96 lakh students will be assessed in two phases, said official sources.CHSE exam controller Prashant Parida said the annual higher secondary exams had been completed smoothly. As many as 16,494 evaluators will assess the answer papers. We hope that this assessment will be over within time, he added.“We will evaluate answer scripts of subjects belonging science, commerce streams and vocational studies online at as many as 75 centres. Only the English paper of the arts stream will be evaluated online. For offline evaluation, 76 centres have been arranged,” said Parida.He said they have an evaluation manual. Both online and offline evaluation centres are under CCTV surveillance. “Zone supervisors will look after the evaluation process,” he added.Sources said results of the Class XII board exam will be published in May so that students can appear for national-level entrance tests.Similarly, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, has almost completed the evaluation of Class X board exam answer scripts. BSE president Srikant Tarai said on Thursday that Class X board exam results will be published in the first or second week of May.Tarai said they started the evaluation work on March 19. “More than 95% of answer scripts have been evaluated by Thursday. We will complete it within a few days. Later, we will process the results for publication,” he added.He said they evaluated the exam answer scripts without making any mistake. “We have also formed squads to monitor the evaluation process in the evaluation centres. I also personally visited the centres to take stock of the situation,” he added.He said this year they will complete the evaluation process a week earlier.
