The newly released song Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke from the upcoming Kannada film KD: The Devil, featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, has sparked widespread debate online. While some viewers praised Nora’s energetic dance performance, a large section of social media users criticised the song’s lyrics and choreography, calling them vulgar and inappropriate.The track, released simultaneously in multiple languages, has the Kannada version titled Sarse Ninna Seraga Sarse. Soon after the lyrical video dropped, clips began circulating widely on social media, triggering strong reactions from viewers.Several comments on YouTube and other platforms criticised the tone of the song. Some viewers even called for the song to be banned.
Armaan Malik reacts strongly to the lyrics
Singer Armaan Malik also reacted to the viral clips of the song and criticised the lyrics.Taking to X, he wrote, “This showed up on my timeline and I had to replay it just to make sure I heard it right. Sad to see commercial songwriting hit a new low.”In another post, he added, “I am genuinely at a loss of words. Wish I could unhear it.”His comments quickly went viral, with many social media users echoing similar sentiments about the song.
Sanjay Dutt and director Prem also draw criticism
Apart from the lyrics, the presence of Sanjay Dutt in the dance number also sparked discussion online. Some viewers expressed surprise at seeing the veteran actor appear in a song that relies heavily on suggestive humour after his blockbuster film Dhurandhar.Director Prem also faced criticism from sections of the audience, with some questioning the creative choice for a film that has been promoted as a large-scale pan-India project.
Nora Fatehi had praised the film at the song launch
At the launch event for the song, Nora Fatehi spoke about her excitement for the project. Making her Kannada debut with KD: The Devil, she said watching the trailer on the big screen made her understand why people call director Prem a showman.She also praised the team and described the project as “an epic movie.” KD: The Devil stars Dhruva Sarja in the lead role, with Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, V. Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Reeshma Nanaiah, Jisshu Sengupta and Nora Fatehi in key roles.The film’s music is composed by Arjun Janya and it is produced by KVN Productions. The project is planned as a pan-India release in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
