Noida: Over 10,000 consumers in Sectors 94 and 65 are set to benefit from two upcoming 33/11 kV substations, with work already underway. The project is aimed at strengthening the city’s power infrastructure and meeting rising industrial and residential demand.Once operational, the substations are expected to improve reliability and reduce issues such as voltage fluctuations, tripping and scheduled outages. The initiative is part of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), which focuses on modernising power systems and ensuring stable supply.Officials said the new facilities will support Noida’s growing population and industrial base while advancing the transition to a smarter electricity network equipped to manage higher loads.Vivek Kumar Patel, superintending engineer, PVVNL, underlined the significance of the project. “The construction in Sector-94 and Sector-65 is a crucial step towards ensuring a reliable power supply. Both substations will be equipped with modern technology, enhancing our capability to cater to the growing consumption in both industrial and residential sectors,” Patel said.In addition, capacity augmentation is underway at the Sector-16A substation within the chief engineer’s office complex, where a 5 MVA transformer is being replaced with a 10 MVA unit to meet increasing demand.Officials said these upgrades mark a key step towards building a resilient and future-ready power distribution network in Noida.
