Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday said that there is currently no plan to abolish any existing district or form new districts, rejecting what he described as false allegations by the BRS.The CM said any rationalisation of districts would be done only after consulting people and discussing it with all opposition parties in the assembly. Bhupalpally would continue as a district, he said, adding the claims by BRS was intended at deriving political mileage during municipal polls. He appealed to people to vote for Congress candidates in the municipal elections, saying neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao would come to local bylanes to address civic issues. He urged people not to trust what he called a vicious campaign by BRS that Congress would abolish compassionate appointments on the basis of medical board reports declaring candidates unfit in Singareni Collieries.Addressing an election meeting in Chelpur village near Bhupalpally municipality, Revanth said Congress came to power with the support of Singareni Collieries workers and their families.“This govt will continue compassionate appointments and also find a solution for 217 dismissed Singareni workers. The state govt will spend nearly Rs 4,000 crore to develop temples, ghats and tourism on the Godavari river, mainly in coal belt areas, for the ensuing Godavari Pushkarams,” he said.Revanth said the Congress govt would sanction lakhs of more Indiramma houses from April onwards. He accused the previous BRS govt of not fulfilling its promise of providing 2-BHK units to the poor, but KCR, Harish, KTR and K Kavitha purchased farmhouses. The incumbent govt sanctioned Rs 17,442 crore to urban local bodies in Telangana, of which Rs 6,116 crore was given to the combined Warangal district.“Electing Congress candidates is important for development works to be taken up. BRS or BJP councillors or corporators will not approach Congress MLAs or him,” he added.Revanth alleged that BRS top leaders K Chandrasekhar Rao, KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao were conspiring to help BJP win the Feb 11 municipal elections to avoid questioning and arrest by CBI and ED in the Kaleshwaram fraud and Formula E-race cases, in which he alleged KCR and Harish, and KTR were involved.“It has been six months since the Kaleshwaram case was handed over to CBI, KCR and Harish had not been questioned, and that KTR too had not been questioned in the Formula E-race case. PM Modi and Union minister G Kishan Reddy were protecting them. Modi had termed the Kaleshwaram project as an ATM for the KCR family but was not allowing their arrest. Kishan Reddy had turned into an adopted son of KCR as Kalvakuntla Kishan Rao,” Revanth alleged.Revanth further alleged if CBI and ED could be used by PM Modi and Kishan Reddy to harass Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, the agencies could also question or arrest KCR, Harish and KTR.He termed BRS as “black mail rajakeeya samithi” and alleged it had blackmailed business persons and industrialists to obtain Rs 1,500 crore through electoral bonds, citing BJP MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy’s statement on this issue. “BRS leaders had committed irregularities and were now facing consequences,” Revanth added.Earlier, Revanth offered prayers at Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple where renovation works were being taken up with Rs 12.15 crore.
