Noida: The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has invited bids for setting up kiosks and commercial outlets at Sector 83 metro station, as part of its efforts to enhance commuter amenities and boost non-fare revenue. According to the tender document, a total of 610 sqm space is available on the first floor of the station, while 845 sqm and 1,530 sqm are available at platform level. The minimum reserve price has been fixed at Rs 205 per sqm.
Officials said the move is aimed at creating a “one-stop solution” for commuters by providing essential services within station premises. “The idea is to improve passenger convenience while also generating additional revenue beyond ticket fares,” an NMRC official said. The proposed commercial areas will have dual access, they can be entered independently without accessing the paid concourse area, and will also remain accessible to passengers arriving by train. Officials said this model is expected to benefit daily office-goers and regular commuters who use the metro for last-mile connectivity. At present, the Aqua Line connects Noida Sector 51 to Depot Station in Greater Noida and records an average daily ridership of around 63,079 passengers, according to Jan 2026 data. In addition, a skywalk connecting Sector 51 and Sector 52 stations is expected to be opened to the public within a month. On Saturday, the Union Cabinet approved the Aqua Line extension from Botanical Garden to Noida Sector 142, spanning 11.56 km.
