Ahmedabad: The standing committee on Thursday approved the formation of the Amdavad District Tourism Development Society (ADTDS) to boost tourist attractions in Ahmedabad. The state govt will provide Rs 10 crore to the society, which will be registered as a trust, under the Societies Registration Act, 1960, and the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950.ADTDS will identify tourist sites and plan infrastructure upgrades, beautification works, tourist amenities, sanitation and drinking water facilities, traffic and parking arrangements, cleanliness measures, signage, and other initiatives to promote tourism. The municipal commissioner will complete related procedures, including setting up the governing council and executive council, in line with a state govt notification.
