Mangaluru: Speaker and Mangaluru MLA UT Khader said the new police station sanctioned in the budget for Sajipanadu village in Bantwal taluk will benefit people from interior areas who earlier had to travel long distances for services, including passport verification.Khader told reporters Saturday that, after delimitation and the formation of the Ullal taluk, parts of the Bantwal taluk were added to his constituency.He said the riverside road from Kallapu to Sajipanadu, being built under riverbank protection plans, was also included in the budget presented by chief minister Siddaramaiah. “The budget earmarked Rs 50 crore for the project, for which works worth Rs 10 crore were already taken up,” he said, adding that a Shramika School had been sanctioned for Ullal.Khader said he had requested the govt to sanction one of the 10 new Government Tool Room & Training Centres (GTTCs) announced in the budget for his constituency. He said 10 new GTTCs will be set up at a cost of Rs 600 crore, with each centre costing Rs 60 crore. On the mapping of the voter list as part of the special intensive revision (SIR), Khader said it is the responsibility of the Election Commission of India to ensure that every citizen above 18 has the opportunity to vote. “None of the eligible voters is denied the right,” he added.2 new police stations in DKA proposal was submitted to the govt on the jurisdiction of two new police stations set to begin operations in the district unit, according to Dakshina Kannada district police.
