Ranchi: Experts from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) are conducting an intensive training for 78 cyber cell personnel from across the state on ways to investigate common and emerging cybercrimes.The five-day programme was inaugurated by SP Ajay Kumar Sinha at the Investigation Training School in Hotwar here on Monday.Police said that the focal areas were crimes related to digital and social media, dark web and cryptocurrency, collection of evidences from the crime scene and CD record and internet protocol detail record analysis.Sinha stated, “The young and tech savvy trainees from all wings of the police department, including districts, rail, anti-terrorism squad, CID and Anti-Corruption Bureau have been selected for the programme so that they could serve the state for longer period. Three experts of the NPA have come to conduct the programme.”He added that police would conduct similar programme every six months adding that SVPNPA has agreed to send its experts for the sessions.Nitin Sharma, lead forensic analyst of the institute, said, “SVPNPA is conducting the training programme on cyber crime across the country under its out reach programme. The focus of the programme is to ensure timely freezing of money and reimbursement to the victims. The ministry of home affairs has also launched a portal in this regard.”He informed that the stress is also on improving coordination among the law enforcement agencies across the country as cyber crimes have pan-India and international linkages. He added that Jharkhand is playing a leading role in the fight against cyber criminals adding that its Pratibimb app was helping police to take action against criminals.
