Dharwad: In a move to enhance cardiac care in the region, SDM Narayana Heart Centre has recently instituted a dedicated Arrhythmia Clinic. The dedicated clinic is designed to diagnose and treat various forms of irregular heartbeats (arrhythmia), providing advanced medical solutions in the vicinity of their own neighbourhoods for people here, said Dr Abhinav Anand, a consultant electrophysiologist. He said the Arrhythmia Clinic will focus on managing conditions like tachycardia (abnormally fast heart rate) and bradycardia (abnormally slow heart rate). Head of the Cardiology Department Dr Vivekanand Gajpati said, “The clinic is supported by a multi-disciplinary team of cardiologists and electrophysiologists. A key highlight of the new service is the monthly residency of Dr Abhinav Anand, who will be available for consultations on the first Thursday of every month.We have already started treating many patients, including both adults and children, who suffer from palpitations, dizziness, and fainting,” said Dr Gajpati.
