Nagpur: The appointment of a full-time director of Nagpur University’s board of examinations and evaluation continues to remain in limbo, even as vice-chancellor Manali Kshirsagar has initiated a major reshuffle in its examination section following mounting delays in result processing. The post has been lying vacant since September 2024, with few in-charge officers appointed in between. The selection process for the crucial post has hit a roadblock due to the pending nomination of an expert member from the Governor’s office, a mandatory requirement to complete the selection panel. Without the nomination, the university is unable to proceed with interviews or finalise the appointment.Amid the delay, Kshirsagar has withdrawn examination-related responsibilities from deputy registrar Manish Zodpe, citing lapses in handling exam work, particularly the delay in declaring results. Around 600 results are still pending, adding to student anxiety and administrative pressure. The charge has been handed over to deputy registrar (finance) Motiram Tadas. Interestingly, Zodpe is among the 15 applicants shortlisted for the post of full-time exam director.Talking about the delay in appointing a full-time director, the vice-chancellor said the process was initiated before she had assumed office but remains incomplete due to the standard procedural requirements.“The entire process, including advertisement and application procedures, was completed before I joined in December last year. The state has seen multiple acting governors, and we are required to obtain approvals for the concerned selection committee. Until those clearances are received, we cannot proceed with interviews,” she said. She added that several administrative processes, including recruitment, are dependent on govt approvals. The developments come at a time when the university’s examination system is under scrutiny, with delays in results and lack of key appointments raising concerns over administrative efficiency.
