Patiala: A woman from Thuhi village in the Nabha subdivision of Patiala has accused police personnel of forcibly entering her house, removing CCTV cameras and snatching her mobile phone.The woman demanded an impartial investigation into the incident.In a written complaint submitted to the Nabha SDM, Sandeep Kaur alleged that the station house officer of Nabha Sadar police station, along with four other policemen including two in civil dress, entered her house for inspection and later removed CCTV cameras.She alleged that when she recorded a video of the incident, the police personnel snatched her mobile phone. She stated that the incident occurred on March 5 around 6:45 pm.“When I objected to the police action and began recording the incident on my mobile phone, SHO J S Khokhar snatched the device from me,” Sandeep Kaur claimed in her complaint.She clarified that the material lying near the boundary wall of her house was part of her property and maintained that any construction within private property does not warrant police interference unless conducted under due legal process.Sandeep further alleged that the police acted beyond the legal framework and also threatened her family with false cases.Demanding justice, she urged the administrative authorities to conduct a fair and impartial inquiry and take appropriate action against those involved.SHO Jaswinder Singh Khokhar denied removal of CCTV cameras or snatching of mobile phone. However, he said: “We inspected the residence following a molestation complaint filed a week ago by their neighbours against Sandeep Kaur’s husband.”“The neighbouring women claimed that Sandeep’s husband and others make wrong gestures from the window that directly opens toward their neighbour’s house,” he said.The SHO further said the complainant and her husband did not join the investigation despite being asked and now further action was being taken in accordance with the law.Nabha DSP G S Bal and SDM A P S Somal said they would look into the matter.MSID:: 129212354 413 |
