Patiala: The 12th Rababi Bhai Mardana Shastri Music Conference concluded at Punjabi University, Patiala, under the leadership of vice-chancellor Jagdeep Singh. The event was organised by the Gurmat Sangeet Chair with support from the university’s music department, Gurmat Sangeet Department and Gurmat Gyan Online Study Centre.The final day of the conference was dedicated to noted musician Principal Shamsher Singh Kareer of Patiala. The programme included a classical vocal performance in Raag Jog by Madhav Arora from Faridkot. Top-grade All India Radio artist Ustad Shaminderpal Singh from Jalandhar and his daughter Parminder Kaur presented a jugalbandi on the sarangi in Raag Miyan Ki Todi.Music teacher Gursharan Singh from Punjab Public School Nabha shared memories of Principal Kareer with the audience.The chief guest, language department Jaswant’s director Singh Zafar attended the event.
