Kanpur: A man wanted in the murder of a minor girl in Nawabganj police station area, was injured and arrested in an encounter in Farrukhabad. A constable, Arvind, was also injured. Both were admitted to CHC Nawabganj, from where the accused was referred to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.On the night of March 28, the accused lured and took away a minor girl. Her father filed a report against three persons.During interrogation, police learnt that the minor was murdered and her body was dumped. On Thursday, her body was recovered from near the Kali river.Additional superintendent of police Arun Kumar Singh said that on Thursday night, the police teams were deployed to search for the wanted accused . The police team cordoned off the area, following which the accused opened fire. In retaliatory action, a bullet hit the accused. A motorcycle used in the incident, a .315-bore country-made pistol, two cartridges and two empty cartridge shells were recovered from the accused. tnn
