MUMBAI: There will be no day block on the Western Railway suburban network today, bringing relief to commuters using local trains.However, operational works were carried out overnight. A block was taken on the fast lines between Borivali and Bhayandar, along with a major block on all lines for the de-launching of a girder of the Prabhadevi Road Over Bridge at Prabhadevi railway station.The Borivali–Bhayandar block was operated from 12.15am to 3.45am, while the major block at Prabhadevi station took place from 1.30am to 6am.During the Borivali–Bhayandar block, all fast line trains ran on the slow line between Virar / Vasai Road and Borivali.During the block at Prabhadevi, some suburban services were cancelled, short-terminated or reversed from Dadar and Bandra. No suburban train services operated between Churchgate and Prabhadevi station. Services were also suspended at Matunga Road railway station and Mahim railway station during the block period.Due to the blocks, some Mail and Express trains were regulated between Surat and Virar, said WR chief spokesperson Vineet Abhishek.
