Mangaluru: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) observed National Safety Day on Wednesday at its training centre. The programme highlighted this year’s National Safety Day/Month theme, ‘Engage, Educate and Empower People to Enhance Safety’.Presiding over the event, Nandakumar V Pillai, director (refinery), said, “Safety should be the prime mission of our operations, and everything else shall follow.” He urged employees to remain doubly vigilant and ensure strict adherence to standard procedures to prevent any untoward incident.
Devendra Kumar, director (finance) and CFO, said, “Any decision taken to ensure safety shall be supported and defended, and every step shall be taken to empower people to make safety the prime motive.”A safety pledge was administered in Kannada, Hindi and English. Prizes were also distributed to winners as part of the celebrations.
