Bhopal: In a student-friendly overhaul, the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has abolished the supplementary examination system for Class 10 and 12 students, replacing it with a “Second Main Examination” to erase the stigma of failure. The new exams kick off on May 7, 2026, offering a fresh shot not just to those who flunked one or two subjects in the main boards, but also to passers seeking score improvements. No more “Supplementary” label on marksheets – these results will read like a regular main exam, lifting a heavy psychological burden. With main exam results due by mid-April amid swift evaluations, application forms will open right after via MP Online portals or schools. This move targets exam stress and dropouts.“Students now get two main chances per session to shine,” the board emphasized, aiming to smooth paths to college and the next grade without the old inferiority complex.
