Akola: An alert four-wheeler driver rescued four occupants after the moving vehicle caught fire on the Sindhi Camp flyover in Akola.According to information, four persons were travelling from Risod in Washim district to Akola for hospital-related work when the driver noticed an engine fault warning on the dashboard. Sensing danger, he immediately pulled over the vehicle on the flyover and asked all passengers to step out.Within moments, smoke started emanating from the front of the vehicle. The fire engulfed the engine and tyres, turning the vehicle into a fireball within minutes.On receiving information, fire brigade rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control. The vehicle was completely gutted by then.Police also reached the scene and temporarily halted traffic on both sides of the flyover as a precautionary measure to avoid any further mishap.Preliminary investigation suggests that the fire was caused due to a technical fault in the vehicle. No injuries were reported in the incident.
