Aizawl: In a bid to strengthen micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the state and support entrepreneurs, who are seeking to expand their businesses, CM Lalduhoma on Thursday launched the Micro & Small Entrepreneurs Excellence project at the I&PR conference hall in Aizawl.Jointly organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry – Centre for Excellence on Employment & Livelihood (CII-CEL) and the Mizoram govt, Lalduhoma said the Mizo community has long been recognised for its skills and craftsmanship, with strong potential in the MSME sector, adding that several Mizo youths had won awards at last year’s IndiaSkills Competition.
The CM emphasised the need to empower entrepreneurs to become self-reliant, stating that the govt’s flagship Hand-holding scheme was designed to create meaningful opportunities for them. He observed that many MSME owners in Mizoram had built their livelihoods through determination and initiative, and expressed confidence that the newly launched project will help them achieve greater success.Lalduhoma highlighted the expertise of organisations such as CII, noting that CII-CEL has successfully implemented similar initiatives in other states.The CM said Mizoram was fortunate that the Volvo Group has agreed to support the programme through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, enabling local MSME owners to participate free of cost. He expressed gratitude to both CII-CEL and the Volvo Group for their partnership.
