Kanpur: The body of a 17-year-old boy was found hanging from a tree under suspicious circumstances in Kiratpur village of Auraiya on Sunday morning. The victim had been missing since Saturday afternoon, and family members accused a youth from the same village of murder .According to family members, the boy went with the accused in the afternoon, but did not return by late at night. The family made a frantic search. On Sunday morning, they received the news of his death. On receiving information, the police reached the spot, and tried to bring the body down. However, the family members protested and demanded an immediate action against the accused. Only after the police assured an impartial investigation and action, the family allowed the body to be brought down. Mukesh Babu Chauhan, inspector, Kotwali, Bidhuna, said, “The panchnama of the body has been completed and it has been sent for postmortem. The family members have expressed certain suspicions, which are being investigated. The actual cause of death can only be ascertained after the postmortem report comes.” tnn
