Lucknow: A minor boy allegedly beat his father to death with a stick over a petty dispute in Mohanlalganj on Monday.Police said the accused (17) allegedly attacked his father after he was told to take him to a relative’s house on a bike.
The teenager refused, leading to an argument that escalated. In a fit of rage, the boy allegedly picked up a wooden stick lying inside the house and repeatedly struck his father on the head, killing him on the spot. Police reached the scene and seized the murder weapon, a wooden stick. Station House Officer, Mohanlalganj, Brijesh Kumar Tripathi, said the man worked as a daily-wage labourer but was addicted to alcohol. After a quarrel during Holi, his wife went to her parental home. At the time of the incident, the younger son went out to graze goats. Police said the boy told them that after their mother left, their father neither cooked food nor allowed the children to cook, and he did not eat for two days. Vishal also told officers that the 17-year-old recently started doing small jobs at a brick kiln to help support the family. Additional DCP, South Zone, Vasanth Rallapalli, directed police teams to intensify efforts to trace the accused, who was held by late evening.
