Part-way through her performance of ‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical,’ in New York, Grammy-winning singer Megan Thee Stallion was rushed to hospital on Tuesday night. Now, her representative has issued a detailed statement on what happened to the singer and the status of her recovery. She is expected to return to the show on Thursday.
Megan Thee Stallion has been discharged from the hospital
As per a statement from her rep to Variety, Megan was rushed to a medical evaluation after experiencing concerning symptoms. The rep revealed, “Doctors ultimately identified extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction and low metabolic levels as the cause of her symptoms. Megan has since been treated, discharged and is now resting.”

Adding that Megan is “incredibly grateful” for the well-wishes from her supporters, the representative said the ‘Wanna Be’ singer is looking forward to resume her role as Zidler on ‘Moulin Rouge’ on Thursday.”

Megan herself updated her fans through a post on Instagram. “I thought I was gonna faint on stage, I really tried to push through my performance but I just couldn’t,” she wrote on social media the next day. “I’ve been pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough. It honestly scared me.” “I’ll be right back on that stage Thursday, stronger, clearer, and ready to give you 100% the way you deserve,” she said addressing her fans.Megan was forced to exit on Tuesday night in the middle of the show, reportedly because she was having trouble breathing.Back in February, it was announced that the Grammy winner was set to make her Broadway debut in ‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical’ as nightclub impresario Harold Zidler, a part originated by Tony winner Danny Burstein.
