Lucknow: A day after the Indian Youth Congress (IYC) workers protested ‘topless’ at the Global AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, both BSP national president Mayawati and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticised the incident and called it an insult to the country.SP is an ally of Congress in UP and a part of the INDIA bloc. Yadav, on Saturday, said that creating a ruckus by Congress workers was wrong and he is not in favour of it.“We know this govt lies, it cheats, but we will fight it out internally. Now, everybody knows that BJP lies but this kind of protest should not have been there which insults our country in front of foreign delegates and countries,” he added.Mayawati, on the other hand, said that the protest was “highly indecent and condemnable”. “It is being said that the people who protested “half-naked” at the summit were youths from Congress,” she said, adding that the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi had prominent people from country and abroad present and made headlines internationally.“If it was not an international conference, it would have been a different matter, but such behavior during the summit is a matter of concern. It would be appropriate if the dignity and image of our country is not tarnished,” said the BSP chief.
