Ahmedabad: A man and a woman were found hanging inside a temple complex on the Bagodara-Dhandhuka Road under Bagodara police station in Ahmedabad district on Friday. Police said a preliminary inquiry revealed that the deceased were Gautam Jadav (31), a married man from Chiyada village, and Kinjal Rathod (20) from Kesharadi village. Both were employed at a pharmaceutical company located in Kerala GIDC, where they reportedly developed a romantic relationship. According to investigators, the relationship deepened at the workplace and the duo allegedly eloped from their respective homes around 15 days ago. Since then, their whereabouts were unknown to family members. On Friday morning, locals noticed two bodies hanging from a neem tree on the temple premises, tied with a single rope, and alerted police.As the news spread, a large crowd gathered at the temple, leading to tension and widespread discussion over whether the deaths were a case of suicide or foul play. A police team rushed to the spot, cordoned off the area, and began an investigation.Bagodara police said the bodies were sent for postmortem examination. “At this stage, it appears to be a case of suicide, but all angles are being probed,” a police officer said, adding that forensic science laboratory (FSL) assistance may be sought if required.Police are examining call records, last known movements, and personal belongings of the deceased to reconstruct the sequence of events. Statements of family members and colleagues from the pharmaceutical company are also being recorded as part of the ongoing investigation.
