Amreli: A farm labourer was murdered late on Wednesday night, allegedly by his step-son, after a fight over making tea, at Mota Munjiyasar village of Bagasara taluka in Amreli district.The victim, Raman Katara, was working as farmhand for a local farmer, Kishor Patoliya. Police said the accused, Suresh Masare, struck Katara on the head with part of a cement stove, killing him on the spot. Police sources said Masare also assaulted and injured his mother, Sita, and Raman’s daughter Asmita,.According to the initial investigation, Raman had married Sita Masare after his first wife died. Sita had a son, Suresh, from her earlier relationship. All of them lived together.After the matter was reported, police arrived and took Raman’s body to Bagasara Hospital for a postmortem. Asmita informed police about the sequence of events.Senior police officials, including Amreli DySP Chirag Desai, visited the crime scene. Police registered a murder case and have begun efforts to arrest Masare.
