Sambalpur: A 32-year-old man was arrested with 61.3g brown sugar near the forest guest house at Deer Park area in Sambalpur on Saturday.Police had information that Arman Khan of Kumbharpada was waiting for customers to sell the brown sugar. Following directions from the Sambalpur SP, a team from Dhanupali police station reached the location and apprehended him.During search, a country-made pistol and cellphone were also seized. A case has been registered against him. Khan is allegedly involved in supply of contraband in the Motijharan and Sunapali areas of the city.Police records reveal that 32 criminal cases, including dacoity, robbery, extortion, drug trafficking and illegal possession of arms, have been registered against him. Notably, he was earlier arrested in 2025 in a similar brown sugar case and was later released on bail.
