Lucknow: A 23-year-old man was found murdered with his throat slit in Amethi’s Bazar Shukul area on Tuesday. The body of Shahid, son of a local tent businessman, was recovered from bushes near a culvert along the Inter College Road, police said.
Shahid left his house around 8 pm on Monday while talking on the phone and did not return. His family began searching for him late at night, but his mobile phone was found switched off. On Tuesday morning, locals spotted his blood-soaked body lying in bushes near a drain close to a gas agency and alerted the family and police. The victim had deep injuries on his neck and face, indicating a murder using a sharp-edged weapon. Based on a complaint filed by Shahid’s father, Sharif, an FIR was registered against four persons, including his friend and the brother of his divorced wife. The accused were identified as Kafeel, Ghulam Mohammad, Suhail, and Irfan. Family members alleged that Shahid had a long-standing dispute with his former in-laws. In 2021, he eloped with a woman and later married her, but the relationship ended in divorce in 2023, after which tensions persisted between the two sides. His father added that Shahid was scheduled to travel to Oman on March 10.
