Chennai: A man died after his two-wheeler reportedly hit a wild boar near Singaperumal Koil in Chengalpet district on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Jayachandran (73), a resident of Periyapanicheri near Gerugambakkam in Kancheepuram district.According to police sources, Jayachandran visited the Aghora Veerabhadra temple in Anumanthapuram village near Singaperumal Koil. He was returning home on his two-wheeler via the Anumanthapuram–Singaperumal Koil road.He was riding near Thenmelpakkam, on a pitch dark stretch, with no functioning street lights. At that time, a wild boar suddenly crossed the road. Jayachandran, who failed to notice the animal in the darkness, lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the boar. He sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot.Chengalpet taluk police rushed to the scene and recovered the body. It was later sent to the Chengalpet govt hospital for post-mortem. Police registered a case, and further investigation is underway.
