Bengaluru: A 31-year-old man died and another was hospitalised after they were made to clean a manhole in Ashraynagar near RMC Yard Sunday evening. The deceased is L Putta.According to a complaint filed by Putta’s father, M Lakshmana, a group of men took Putta and Anthony to Ashraynagar Main Road at 7pm and allegedly forced them to clean the manhole. Both men experienced health complications after coming out of the manhole but were neither given first aid nor taken to hospital. They returned home, but Putta died the next morning.Police have registered a case under the Manual Scavengers and Their Rehabilitation Act. Four suspects, including Nagaraj, Ananda Kumar and Devaraju have been booked, but no arrests have been made so far. | TNN
