Gurgaon: A 21-year-old factory staffer died after a truck hit him while he was crossing the road near IMT Manesar on Friday afternoon. The truck driver was arrested on the spot and the vehicle was seized.Nilesh Kumar, who was from Begusarai district of Bihar, recently started working as a helper at an industrial unit in Sector 7, IMT Manesar and lived with his elder brother in Bhangrola village.According to a complaint filed by his brother Avnish Kumar, the accident took place around 1pm when Nilesh was walking towards Baas village market to buy household supplies.A canter bearing registration number DL1LAQ2810, coming from Naharpur towards Sector 8, allegedly hit him while being driven at high speed near Bhangrola T-Point.Passersby informed the police control room following which an emergency response vehicle reached the spot and shifted the injured to Civil Hospital Gurgaon, where doctors declared him dead.The truck driver, Anuj Singh Rajawant (34), a native of UP Uttar Pradesh, was detained at the spot and his truck was impounded.A case was registered under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 106(1) (causing death due to negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at IMT Manesar police station.
