Sasaram: A 32-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death during a violent clash over a land dispute in Muradabad village under the Mufassil police station area of Rohtas district on Tuesday. The man, Hasan Raza Khan, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the trauma centre of Sasaram Sadar Hospital.According to police sources, the incident arose from an ongoing dispute related to the buying and selling of land, which had created tension between the victim and a group of villagers over the past week. On Tuesday, the situation escalated into a brutal assault, during which the accused reportedly attacked Khan with sticks and other objects, leaving him critically injured. He sustained severe injuries to his head, legs and several other parts of his body.Upon receiving information, the Dial 112 emergency response team rushed to the spot and immediately shifted the victim to the hospital. However, despite prompt medical attention, he died shortly after being admitted.The victim’s mother has alleged that her son was attacked by miscreants from the same village. She stated that although he had no direct personal dispute with anyone, his association with people involved in the land matter may have made him a target. She further added that her son was a driver by profession and was the sole breadwinner of the family.Acting swiftly, the police have detained three suspects from the village for questioning. During subsequent raids, officials reportedly recovered two country-made firearms and live cartridges from a house and a garage, though official confirmation on the recovery is awaited.Mufassil police station in-charge Rajeev Ranjan Singh has confirmed the incident, saying that the body has been sent for postmortem and later handed over to the family members.
