Bengaluru: In a shocking case, a stranger approached a 31-year-old man for weed and later injured him and his elder brother with a trimmer.According to the complaint filed by Anith DN, a resident of Metro Layout in Nayandahalli, the incident happened around 2pm on June 3. Anith, who runs a dog-breeding business, was standing near the compound of his residence along with a friend when a stranger, identified by police as Lohith, 30, approached them and asked for weed.When Anith said he had no weed, Lohith got into an argument with him. Lohith then went to a nearby shop, where his father works as a tailor, and got a trimmer from there. He returned and asked Anith for drinking water. After drinking water, Lohith tried to attack Anith with the trimmer. Hearing the commotion, Anith’s elder brother, Punith, rushed to intervene. Lohith turned on him and struck him above the eye and on the chest with the trimmer.Lohith also inflicted injuries to Anith’s head, arm, and skin above his eye before trying to flee. However, he was caught with the help of residents. Punith called the 112 helpline, police rushed to the spot and detained Lohith.The injured brothers were treated in a private hospital. A case was registered under BNS Sections 118 (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and 351 (criminal conspiracy) at Chandra Layout police station. Lohith was arrested and then released on station bail.Lohith had earlier attacked a woman in Padarayanapura in a similar manner, and a case was registered against him at Byatarayanapura police station. Lohith’s father claimed he is mentally disturbed, but he is not undergoing any treatment.
