T’puram: Valiyathura police on Wednesday arrested a habitual offender under Kaapa as part of Operation Dark Hunt, launched on the directions of city police commissioner Karthick K.The accused, Muhammed Naufal (38), of Vettucaud, was taken into preventive custody for repeatedly engaging in criminal activities and disturbing public peace despite prior police warnings.Police said Naufal is involved in 14 cases, including assault, robbery, theft and attempt to murder. He had earlier been detained twice under the Kaapa. He was apprehended from Palayam–PMG area and placed under preventive detention. TNN
