Sambalpur: Bhatli police in Bargarh district on Thursday arrested a 35-year-old man for allegedly operating mule bank accounts and facilitating illegal financial transactions linked to online gaming and cyber fraud. The accused has been identified as Chandrakanta Sahu of Nuagarh village under Sadar police station limits in Bargarh district.Police said an inquiry into several suspicious bank accounts revealed that Sahu had been using accounts belonging to other individuals to channel illicit transactions. Following verification and investigation, he was taken into custody and later produced in court.
During the search, police seized multiple bank-related materials believed to have been used for fraudulent transactions. Items seized from the accused include eight debit cards and 10 cheque books. Police said further probe is underway to trace the financial trail and identify others, who may be involved in the racket.
