Nagpur: The Maharashtra HSC paper leak case has now dragged a third tuition centre into its web, with police sources confirming the sixth accused is emerging from yet another coaching outfit. He is on the run, with cops behind him.Senior inspector Amol Deshmukh-led special investigation team (SIT) fanned out in different directions to nab the sixth accused, who has information on the rest of the chain. His mobile phones are switched off and he has gone underground, police officials said.Investigators say the trail began with Shashikant Mool, whose home-based classes were raided first. He was arrested for allegedly circulating leaked HSC physics and chemistry papers.Next came Mustafa Khan and Munir Khan — owners of a well-known tuition centre in central Nagpur’s Mominpura — and their HSC coordinator, Junaid. All three are in custody after Junaid reportedly forwarded the question papers to students on his official work handset. Another accused, Farhan Akhtar, was sent to magisterial custody. Now, fresh leads point to yet another player, a staff member from another prominent coaching institute, who allegedly supplied the leaked papers to the Mominpura centre.Police are tight-lipped on the name, but sources say the sixth accused — likely this employee — will be named soon. “The chain is longer than we thought,” an officer told TOI. “We’re tracing how the papers moved from one tuition group to another.”Officials believe the ultimate source could be inside an exam centre-cum-school, where the papers were first accessed. “Once we nail the originator, that school will face scrutiny,” the officer added.
