Palghar: A hotelier opened fire on a man in Boisar on Sunday night. The accused shot the victim in his house, located in Vadhave village, Boisar, around 2.30 am with his pistol and left the scene. The severely bleeding victim, identified as Suresh Varghade (52), was rushed to a local hospital. He was stabilised over there and then shifted to a hospital in Navsari after the family requested so. The Boisar cops have filed a case under sections of attempt to murder and arms act.According to preliminary information, the firing was allegedly triggered after a hotel staff and the son of the victim fell in love and got married last month. Sources have confirmed that this is what had upset the hotelier, identified as Umesh Gharat.
“We are probing if this was the reason,” said a cop from Boisar police station. Cops also confirmed that this female staff used to work at the hotel of the accused and also used to stay over there. Sources have confirmed that the medical scans showed that the bullet got stuck in the skull after a round was fired. Cops confirmed that around evening the bullet was removed and that the victim was stable but under observation.“We have formed teams to search the accused and are probing if this marriage had any relation with the crime,” said Palghar superintendent of police Yatish Deshmukh.
