Prayagraj: Unidentified men fraudulently withdrew Rs 4.55 lakh from the bank account of Shri Mahant Yamuna Puri, secretary of Shri Panchayati Mahanirvani Akhara, (Daraganj) in past fortnight.After acknowledging the fraud, Mahant filed a complaint with the Kotwali police station against a Lucknow-based man and some unknown employees of a private bank. DCP (city) Maneesh Shandilya told TOI that cops are investigating the matter.Mahant said he has an account at a private bank located in Chowk and obtained a cheque book from the bank for easy transactions. In the past fortnight, more than Rs 4.55 lakh was withdrawn from his account in two separate transactions. When Mahant went to the bank after noticing the transaction from his account, he found that the money was transferred from his account to a Lucknow-based man’s private bank account. A forged cheque with a fake signature was deposited at the bank. He still possesses the original cheques
